Analytical challenges of new modalities
Royal Society of Chemistry, London
At present the pharmaceutical industry stands on the edge of a hugely exciting new dawn. New, novel therapies such as Oligonucleotides, CAR-T therapies and other new modalities open up the opportunity to see a paradigm shift in treatment of many currently ‘un-druggable’ conditions. While there is rightfully huge excitement around this there are challenges. One significant challenge is that the regulatory framework we currently have is focused on either small molecules or biologics. Many of these therapies fall outside of these concepts. A new perspective is needed. Even questions as to "what is an impurity?" take on a very different meaning. This meeting looks to explore these challenges, examining how the quality of such entities is examined both in terms of analytical tools and also how to group / classify and control impurities; examining what the regulatory framework of the future may look like.

Delegates attending the event will gain an insight into this exciting new future and have the opportunity to interact with speakers / delegates at the vanguard of these fields. It will open up the potential to get involved and join the industry in shaping the future.

Confirmed Speakers:

Owen Bain (NHS Royal Free Hospital)
Ben Andrews (GSK)
Nadim Akhtar (AZ)
Malcolm Hill (GSK)
Martin Kenworthy (AZ)
Ross Turner (AZ)
